When I started working out at Fitness Crossroad in 2015 at age 54, I could not squat at all, couldn't lift or carry hardly anything, and couldn't get out of a chair without pushing with my arms and/or rocking a few times to get up some momentum. I saw where this was headed, and I knew I had to do something. When my original trainer left after a year and 1/2, Yev took over my training and when Fitness Crossroad closed due to Covid, I transferred to his new personal studio. He's been working with me for over 8 1/2 years and the results have been incredible. I can bench press 30 pounds, do multiple bicep curls with 12 pound weights, rock out sit-ups and leg lifts, do deep squats, go for multiple minutes at a time on the elliptical, and most important do the things I need to do on a daily basis to maintain my function and independence.
Through this whole time, Yev has been my partner in fitness, working as a team to get the maximum out of every workout whether it be pushing the limits on a good day or keeping my expectations reasonable on days when age makes itself known. He doesn't just teach exercises, but also the importance of stretching and working with the body you have that day, adapting on the fly so that you always get a good workout and leave feeling good about what you did in that session. Yes - within a trainer's scope. I use corrective exercise with stretching progressions and can coordinate with your PT/chiro guidance if you're under care. (*Not medical treatment)
Yes - phone/video consults and ongoing virtual training are possible if you prefer to train from home or while traveling.
Comfortable athletic clothes, clean training shoes, and a water bottle. Everything else is provided.
